Le Claouzet

  Walking

We are in wonderful walking country and whatever your level you will find walks to suit your needs. There is huge scope, from challenging gorge walking through to relaxing strolls through forests and along river valleys. There are over 50 well-marked routes in the Tarn alone and as we are so close to the Aveyron department we can double that number of easily accessible routes.  Why not try one our walking holidays or join me for a day walk.   Horse Riding

Equestrians venturing here are spoilt for choice around Monestiers. The areas bridle paths take visitors across a wide variety of terrain. Many of the public GR and GRP footpaths are open to horse-riders and the less-steep hill routes are of particular interest. And you don't have to be an expert rider to take advantage of this compelling landscape.
  Sailing & Swimming

Near Monesties (15 min) there is a lake with sand beach (la Roucarie) where one can swim and sail. Of course there are many places along the rivers Aveyron and the Viaur were one can plunge in the water to cool down.
  Canoeing & Rafting

Experience France's natural wonders first hand through exhilarating canoeing trips of the Gorges de l'Averyron. Starting point at any of the renting companies at St. Antonin Noble Val. A 3-4 hour adventure along the magnificent cliffs of the Roc d' Anglars. The trip -through rapids and over dams- is not difficult and children can join.
  Cycling & Mountain Biking

There are a many marked VTT (mountain bike) trails from Cordes and for those who are more interested in touring you can try one of the many marked routes in the Tarn. You can hire bikes locally.
  Golf

There are several excellent golf courses in the area including a championship course, which are in beautiful settings with stunning views over the Tarn. They are uncrowded with very reasonable green fees.
